Who am I?

Who am I? That's a question I tend to ask myself too!
First of all, let us start with a some things in my background and some obvious info. I'm Shane Vincent, born in 1994. Living in West-Flanders, Belgium. I'm working as a "Cyber/IT Security Analyst" for Colruyt Group. In the past I did some other things for this company but for that kind of information, I'm referring to my LinkedIn. In secondary school I studied "Human Sciences". Afterwards I graduated as "Computer Technician" and "Network Manager". Why did I create this site? Actually a do a lot of stuff. I have multiple hobbies and all of them take their time. On this site you can find some basic information, pictures and other things about them. Let me discuss some of them for you... |
On a daily base I drive a Ford Fiesta ST. Small nice car, with some bhp ;). Since cars filled a large part of my childhood (and still does), it does speek for itself that I do own more cars. As a hobby car I have an American imported Buick Electra Estate Wagen (1980). Together with my dad we do some events and have some meet and greets with other drivers or car enthusiasts. Have a look at "Capri Power Meeting Pics" and check those events!
When I was a little younger I played in a band called Paivy. We do not exist anymore but we had a great time. I played the guitar and together for some friends we played some gigs, released a full album called 'Come Alive' and toured some parts of Belgium. A great band (yeah I did say it) needs a great photographer and that is where Sven Decock came in the picture. He became, and still is, my best friend. A friend where I spend a lot of time with and some hobbies as well... He introduced me to photography. After some time I bought my first DSLR and some lenses and took of.
I prefer to shoot models, lightpainting and cars.
The small stuff... To be exact 28-32mm miniatures, scale models and decors...
I fell in love with a boardgame called "Zombicide". Long story short, it is a boardgame in which you play as a survivor in a zombie apocalypse. You have to complete missions without getting eaten by flesh-eating no-brainers. This game uses some 32mm miniatures/sculpts which I paint. It takes between 15 minutes - 4 hours to paint and decorate them and even 25+ hours for the bigger once, the abominations, the bosses...
I lost count on how many of them I have but I know that it is an army of survivors againts hordes and hordes of zombies.
This let to collecting and playing other (miniature)boardgames. Together with my girlfriend we own quite a lot of them. Going from small and fast card games to games which take hours to complete.
Also, I do some modelling with scale vehicles or cities and other kindlike things. It does cost time, storage, and money but hey, which hobby doesn't?
Ofcourse, when you are into modelling, you like to create your own stuff. You like to make it, you like to print it...
In 2018 I build my first, small, 3D-printer. It is a Velleman Kit! It is the smallest one which can print 8x8x8. I chose this small one to set my first steps in the 3D-print world and get used to Repetier and ThinkerCad. Maybe in the future I'll build or buy a bigger one but for now, it does fine.
Everyone needs some kind of action in his/her life. For me, and my girlfriend, this action is called Airsoft. A realistic war-simulation in where teams stand up against each other. The weapons or replica's are real-looking guns, bombs, knives,... which shoot 6mm BB's at quite some speed. When you play outside even vehicles can be involved! HIT! and respawn...
Now, after you have read this almost one-pager about someone you might (not) know, I hope that you still have some time to check the content of this site. Have a look around, enjoy and if you have any remarks questions or other things that pop up in your mind, please do contact me.
Have a great day!
